Nierco Et Alma Aux Folles

from Mandala Sunrise by Martin Mensik

/

about

Extended piece of electronica, very much in the retro Berlin style, made for a film that is still in production. Slow emotional build up of orchestral melody lines. Sampled voice, “All the day”. Grand piano, plucked guitar and marimba rhythmns are overlayed with an expressive oboe line. A complex block A-B-A-C-A-D-A-E structure builds towards a false drum and bass entry. The song then rebuilds emotion and structure until there is complete drum and bass rhythmic structure. There is counterpoint of harmony between trumpets and violins. After a journey through many distinct structured areas of emotion, the listener is led repeatedlt towards what seems like this songs ending. The listener is launched into a final lavish reprise of the chorus. As the track gently finishes it lets the explorer carefully down, and they are softley reminded of the melody lines encountered previously.
